The School-Based Life Skills Specialist (School Success Specialist) provides life skills training, behavioral support, and counseling to school-aged clients under the supervision of the Clinical Director. Responsibilities include clinical documentation, treatment planning, and collaboration with families, schools, and care teams.Clinical supervision toward independent licensure is available.Work Schedule:Monday through Friday; hours vary by school and client schedulesMust be available during school breaks and summer programmingPhysical Requirements:Indoor and outdoor work environmentsFrequent movement, including climbing stairsAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbs (with or without accommodations)Must be able to transport clients using a personal vehicleKey Responsibilities:Provide weekly life skills and counseling services to assigned clientsMeet weekly encounter/unit goalsDevelop and update individualized treatment plansMonitor and report on client progress and intervention effectivenessFacilitate age-appropriate therapeutic, recreational, and social skill activitiesMaintain organized client files and documentationParticipate in team meetings, clinical supervision, and provider/parent meetingsEnsure confidentiality and positive engagement with clients and familiesRepresent Zarephath professionally in all community and client interactionsPerform other related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related behavioral health fieldOR Bachelor’s degree in a similar field with at least 5 years of experience in a behavioral health setting with childrenLicensed or associate licensed (preferred)Background in CBT and trauma-focused CBT (preferred)Experience working with children and families on issues such as PTSD, ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, DV, and substance useFamiliarity with the Arizona Behavioral Health system and stakeholders (DDD, CPS, Juvenile Probation)Minimum 1 year of experience in counseling, assessments, and treatment planningKnowledge of Arizona’s 12 PrinciplesProficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skillsCPR and First Aid certifiedMust be 21 years of age or olderPossess a valid state driver's licenseMust obtain or possess a Fingerprint Clearance CardStrong communication, organizational, and teamwork skillsCompensation:
Initial Salary (First 60 Days): $42,000 – $47,000
After Probation: Base Salary + Pay-Per-Unit = $42,000 – $47,000Unit-Based Pay Breakdown: Weekly UnitsAdditional Pay per Unit
0–50 Base Pay Only
51–100 + $7.50 per unit
101–125 + $7.75 per unit
126–150 + $8.00 per unit
151+ + $8.50 per unitNote: 1 unit = 15 minutes of client service or care coordination.
