A well-established and growing commercial construction company in Athens, Georgia is seeking an experienced Civil Site Construction Estimator to support their expanding operations. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse infrastructure projects while contributing to the growth of a dynamic organization.Position Overview: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive cost analyses for civil construction projects, with emphasis on site development and underground utilities. This role requires strong technical expertise combined with excellent communication skills to support the preconstruction process from initial bid through project handoff.Primary Duties:
Develop accurate cost estimates for sitework and utility construction projects
Review construction documents, blueprints, and project specifications to determine scope and requirements
Obtain and assess pricing from subcontractors and material suppliers
Work closely with project management and engineering teams throughout the bidding process
Participate in pre-bid conferences and conduct field evaluations when required
Build and maintain comprehensive cost databases for ongoing reference
Identify value engineering opportunities and cost optimization strategies
Facilitate seamless project transitions from estimating to field operations
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of demonstrated experience in civil construction estimating
Comprehensive understanding of site preparation, earthwork, paving, storm systems, and utility infrastructure
Proficiency with industry-standard estimating platforms (HeavyBid, AGTEK, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office applications
Strong verbal and written communication abilities with proven negotiation skills
Capability to interpret civil engineering drawings and technical specifications
Detail-oriented professional with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and meet critical deadlines
Self-directed individual who works effectively in collaborative team environments
