Compensation: $71,000 - $80,000Job Summary:We are seeking a Lead Field Service Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation services for industrial packaging machinery. This role requires a hands-on approach, responding to customer inquiries and traveling to client locations (50-60% of the time) to perform on-site service and repairs. The ideal candidate will build strong customer relationships and have the opportunity to earn 1% commission on recommended and installed parts.Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, fine-tune, and program packaging machinery, including VFFS & HFFS Baggers, Scales, Check-Weighing Systems, Metal Detection, X-Ray Detection, Print & Conveyor Systems.
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (F.A.T.) to ensure machines meet operational standards.
  • Respond promptly to customer service calls and maintenance requests.
  • Perform maintenance repairs, system overhauls, and troubleshooting on existing equipment.
  • Accurately log customer calls, service activities, and expenses related to service work.
  • Process invoices and service documentation efficiently.
  • Recommend additional services or parts to customers, with an opportunity to earn commission.
Travel Information:
  • 50-60% travel to customer sites for on-site service.
  • $50 per diem in cash for personal use during travel.
  • Flights typically depart from South Bend for easy access.
