- Develop process, process flow mapping and associated documentation to support implementation and staff training.
- Monitor overall process operations and develop solutions to a broad range of technical problems applying mechanical engineering and/or lean manufacturing principles, theory, and concepts.
- Participate in efforts involving concurrent design for manufacturability and alternative process technologies
- Deploy best practice principles for process control and product yield.
- Establish performance measures and metrics, analyze these metrics to identify and implement performance-based improvements.
- Review performance outcomes, investigate problems and ensure revisions to documented procedures.
- Active participant in APQP & FMEA.
- Documentation of processes into work instructions and procedures.
- Comply with, support all department, and company policies and procedures as defined in the IEP Employee Manual.
- Follow all International Standards that apply to IEP’s certification and QMS.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering (prefer Mechanical Engineering). Relevant work experience will be considered.
- 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Stamp, Plate, Mold, Assembly experience is a plus!
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as tolerances, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Must read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
- Must successfully complete 90-day probationary period.
- Highly attentive to detail and sound administrative and record keeping skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, or employees, as applicable.
- Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel, Mini Tab, & other Advanced Statistical Software.
- Effective listening and communication skills, both oral and written with ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Cooperative with the ability to work individually or in a team environment.
- Capable of conducting DOE’s.
- Organized with the ability to prioritize work and multi-task when required.
- Ability to interface with customers and deal with difficult issues tactfully and professionally.
