- Weekday and Weekend shifts may be required. Overtime required.
- Identify and report to management all hazardous working conditions and specifically those that prohibit the safe exchange of meters.
- Commitment to customer service and responding to the needs of internal and external customers in a professional manner.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.
- Able to perform maintenance and installments with solar equipment and electric meter boxes.
- Experience with wiring, troubleshooting and checking voltage.
- Ability to read meters and willingness to learn to operate new equipment and implement new procedures.
- Ability to understand and obtain NY state required OQ i.e., #6 Inspecting for atmospheric corrosion, #70 Properties of natural gas, and #85 AOC of meter assembly.
- Strong directional skills: the ability to read and understand maps via GPS instruments and websites, i.e., Garmin’s, Google Maps, Waze, etc.
- Computer and smartphone literate.
- Ability to read maps and navigate in congested areas.
- Independently manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
- This is a minimum 40-hour workweek with Saturdays considered inclement weather make-up days.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Mechanical and/or electrical experience preferred.
- Experience in the use of hand and power tools.
- 3+ years of driving experience with minimal non-moving violations.
- A Valid Driver's License is required.
- Driving Record clear of major moving violations.
- Must be willing to travel through the week within central NY.
- Lodging is provided by the company.
