- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3–5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or quality assurance (healthcare, senior living, or hospital setting preferred)
- Strong knowledge of federal and Washington, DC healthcare regulations, including CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, and District-specific compliance standards
- Familiarity with insurance, claims management, survey readiness, and incident reporting systems
- Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proven ability to educate, train, and mentor staff on compliance and risk mitigation practices
- Strong communication and leadership skills with executives, staff, families, and regulatory agencies
- Develop, implement, and oversee the facility’s risk management program to ensure compliance and reduce liability
- Conduct regular audits, safety inspections, and risk assessments; lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Prepare and train staff for survey readiness, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and clinical standards
- Act as primary liaison during surveys, audits, and regulatory visits; manage documentation and responses in real time
- Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and grievances; track trends and implement improvement strategies
- Collaborate with leadership, clinical teams, and legal counsel on claims management, insurance issues, and quality outcomes
- Lead emergency preparedness planning, including drills, evacuation procedures, and debriefs with staff
