A leading insurance and investment solutions firm is seeking a Senior Analyst, Investment Accounting to join its Investment Accounting Center of Excellence (COE) team. The position supports the reconciliation review between an investment accounting platform and the general ledger (GL), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and adequate substantiation of investment balances in support of both GAAP and statutory (STAT) Investment Controllership functions. The individual will bridge investment operations and accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and will also contribute to cross-functional initiatives focused on process improvement and consistency in the delivery of investment results across reporting bases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and review investment-related reconciliations for U.S. GAAP and statutory reporting purposes
- Support the clearing and reconciliation of investment transactions across financial subledgers
- Collaborate with third-party service providers and internal finance stakeholders to ensure timely processing and accurate general ledger recognition
- Monitor and substantiate investment-related suspense accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with external audit requests and documentation
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects and continuous process improvement efforts
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred
- 4+ years of relevant experience in Investment Accounting or Investment Operations with exposure to reconciliation and GL processes
- Strong understanding of investment accounting under U.S. GAAP and STAT frameworks
- Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Hyperion (FCC, Essbase), PeopleSoft, and data analysis tools a plus
- Strong analytical skills and commitment to process improvement and automation
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver multiple workstreams
- Experience with Clearwater Analytics or similar investment accounting systems preferred
- Strict 4 day in-office role (4 days/week) based in Boston. Only candidates with current or immediate Boston presence will be considered.
