MS Power BI/MS Synapse Architect (Part-Time)

- Architect and lead the migration of existing analytics and reporting solutions from Oracle Analytic Server (OAS) to MS Power BI / Synapse within Azure Federal cloud environments.
- Lead design of modern reporting solutions in Power BI and other Azure services.
- Develop and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and datasets to provide actionable insights for government stakeholders.
- Lead report rationalization and usage analysis to support consolidation, where possible
- Design scalable data pipelines, data models, and integration frameworks aligned with federal compliance and security requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a SAFe Agile framework.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to federal data governance, quality, security, and compliance standards.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and best practices for BI and analytics implementation.

- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, business intelligence, and analytics.
- Demonstrable experience migrating OAS solutions to Microsoft Azure / Synapse (preferably in FedRAMP environments).
- Deep expertise with MS Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization best practices) and MS Synapse Analytics (data warehousing, pipelines, security models).
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and related Azure data services.
- Strong understanding of federal cloud compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, etc.).
- Experience working in SAFe Agile or other scaled Agile environments.
- Prior experience supporting federal government agencies.
- ETL / Data Integration (Informatica, ADF, incremental loads)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical details into business value.
- High attention to detail and commitment to code quality, system documentation, and secure application lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated leadership in delivering secure, high-performing web applications in federal or large-scale environments.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe) and experience working in fast-paced, iterative development cycles.
- The successful candidate will also be able to pass background screening prior to employment.
- US Citizenship, or legal permanent residence, or US work authorization with minimum 3 years of continuous US presence is required due to federal contract requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect, or Power BI certification.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Must be able to consistently use a keyboard, mouse, computer, and other office productivity tools.
- Must be able to speak and hear using online meeting tools such as Zoom and Teams and be comfortable on and off camera for videoconferencing calls.
- For remote positions, a minimum standard internet speed for optimal performance of 50 x 25 (50 mbps download x 25 mbps upload) is required.
- For remote positions, a dedicated workspace, free from ongoing interruptions, is required to protect sensitive but unclassified federal information.
