
Emergency Veterinary Technician

- 3/12's, 3rd shift
- Weekend coverage needed for Friday, Saturday and Sunday overnights
- Pay range $23-28/hr
- Triage and take complete histories on incoming patients
- Assisting with managing the flow between clients and patients
- Execute treatment plans correctly and use of hospital information system and digital treatment sheets
- Provide excellent nursing care efficiently and accurately
- Proper handling, completion of paperwork, and submission of all laboratory samples.
- Produce quality digital radiographs safely and efficiently.
- Assisting the DVMs and other members of the medical teams in procedures and treatments
- Anesthetizing, maintaining, monitoring and recovering patients perioperatively. Must be proficient in drug and CRI calculations.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above listed responsibilities satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- CVT preferred.
- Recover certification and Anesthesia is a plus.
- Highest preference will be given to individuals with Emergency or Urgent Care experience.
- Proper animal restraint
- Peripheral catheter placement and properly securing them
- Venipuncture
- Knowledge of various routes of drug administration
- Calculation and administration of fluids and medications
- Aseptic surgical area preparation
- Work well under pressure and during high levels of strss
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask
- Strong computer skills and ability to problem solve
- Exhibit compassion and empathy towards clients, referral partner hospitals, and team members
- Flexible working hours
- Out-going personality and works well individually and in a team setting
- Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
- Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages is a plus
- Educational Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent
- 2 years of related job experience
- Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician
