Agawam Hunt is seeking qualified members to join a new team of driven professionals. Positions include Casual and Fine-Dining Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, Cocktail Servers, a Sous Chef, and Line Cook.

Agawam Hunt is an historic property in Rumford that has been a private club since 1897. Under the new member-ownership, a progressive dining program is being created to complement the 18-hole Donald Ross-designed golf course, indoor and outdoor tennis, squash, swimming, and a close community of families and individuals. The team has a strong commitment to sourcing the best people, ingredients and serving the community in a sustainable and warm environment.

The busiest season is between May and October but qualified candidates have the ability to secure year-round employment as they prove their ability and commitment.

The environment at the club requires energy, progressive experience, self-motivation and a great attitude. A knowledge base to serve well-traveled guests is also important. Individuals are empowered to bring their own talents and personality to their position. Many positions are physically demanding and problem-solving is essential to being a successful part of this community.

The Lunch Box

Cocktail Server

Lunch is served outdoors and poolside May through October. The Lunch Box offers full food and beverage service in a fast-paced but luxurious setting for families and business lunches alike. It is open seven days a week extending to evening hours as the weather and daylight allow. Teamwork and taking initiative are crucial to success. Hired staff may be required to assist in other departments or positions as business volume and needs arise. Comfort with new technology and the ability to put together take-out orders efficiently will be required. Alcohol safety certification is required.

Links Lounge

Bartender

Candidates should have at least two years of bartending experience, with a history of luxury table service preferred. A strong base of food and beverage knowledge is imperative. Can you make a Boulevardier? If so, great. If not, you'll have work to do. Working breakfast shifts may be required as well. Alcohol safety certification is required.

The Garden Room and Terrace

Server

Servers must have fine-dining experience and be able to communicate effectively with guests about their preferences and needs. Remembering each guests preferences and being proactive about accommodating them to create a personal relationship will be imperative to your success.

Being polite and able to read guests should come naturally to you as well as a comfort with suggesting food, wine and guiding the direction of a meal.

Busser

Bussers provide support to the service team and are the backbone of the restaurant running efficiently throughout the day. Tasks include providing bread and water service to each guest, clearing and resetting tables, polishing glass and silverware, and maintaining the cleanliness of the restaurant and work space and Clubhouse. This is a great position for those with little restaurant experience to learn the ropes and be a part of an excellent team.

Bartender

Candidates should have at least two years of bartending experience, with a history of luxury table service preferred. A strong base of food and beverage knowledge is imperative. This role is the backbone of club culture requiring strong conversational skills and the ability to provide a full service dining experience. Can you make a Corpse Reviver #2? If so, great. If not, you'll have work to do. Alcohol safety certification is required.

The Agawam Kitchen

Line Cook

Successful candidates will have a strong sense of urgency, an upbeat, positive attitude, and the ability to work well with a small team. Excellent knife skills and a strong knowledge of proper cooking techniques are also required.

Looking for accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions. Working well with the chef and other kitchen staff to produce diversified menus in accordance with the restaurant's policy and vision will be vital to your success.
