- Off Harvest Season Monday-Thursday 1st shift, On Harvest Season 2nd shift
- Supervise and direct work of all production shift employees to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Lead production personnel by example in the areas of personal & food safety. Correct unsafe acts of employees as appropriate working with the HR team to follow progressive corrective action.
- Work with the sanitation supervisor to ensure all food processing equipment and areas are clean and ready for the next shifts production.
- Training of employees.
- Supervise and assure compliance with HACCP programs. Monitor and promote food safety in the plant. Address food safety concerns in an appropriate manner and timeframe.
- Maintain an open line of communication with management and all employees.
- Operate the production areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other company procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure that appropriate records for all phases of production/sanitation are accurate and maintained according to company policies and procedures.
- In the off-season, be involved with a number of process improvement projects, safety projects, and maintenance activities.
- Work directly with the maintenance supervisor to develop timelines, work orders, and proper execution to achieve plant readiness prior to the start of the season.
- Assist management and maintenance supervisor in the development, planning, quoting, and execution of capital and major maintenance projects.
- May perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
- Adhere and enforce all Lakeside Foods policies and procedure
- Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of identified variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
