We handle critical infrastructure to execute, manage, and optimize growth campaigns for the entire company and move quickly to test and develop new products.We're looking for a backend Staff Software Engineer to shape and drive the team's technical roadmap and champion investments that improve engineering and operational quality. In this role you will also represent the engineering team with stakeholders and across engineering teams to influence decision-making and strategic direction.Responsibilities:
  • Shape the team's long-term technical vision & roadmap
  • Lead major updates to our backend systems
  • Break down complex problems into deliverables
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure successful execution
  • Design, extend, and implement robust APIs
  • Effectively communicate technical trade-offs and decisions to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and external partners
  • Mentor and support other backend engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and ongoing guidance
  • Participate in our team's on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and support other teams to mitigate customer-impacting events
Experience:
  • 8+ years of expertise in architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems
  • Proven track record leading large projects involving multiple engineering teams
  • Prior experience defining long-term technical visions
  • Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming
  • Deep knowledge of architecture and design patterns
  • Familiar with databases, relational and NoSQL
  • Prior experience working with product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineering teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with advanced proficiency in English
  • Nice to have:
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and proactively guiding technical direction
  • Proven experience elevating engineering standards and best practices, including code quality, performance optimization, and conducting thorough code reviews
  • Collaborative experience working with engineers across various platforms (Mobile, Frontend, Backend).

Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
