- Welcome visitors, provide orientation, and answer questions.
- Provide information about Art@Bainbridge and the Art Museum, including collections, special exhibitions, programs, and membership.
- Uphold and enforce Art Museum policies and procedures.
- Support visitor amenities, including lockers and device rental.
- Answer the Information Desk by phone and direct calls accordingly.
- Ensure public spaces are properly set up and ready to accommodate visitors, including stocking brochures and Museum signage.
- Support a variety of groups and programs scheduled throughout the day and coordinate logistics with Museum colleagues. This may include K-12 tours, public highlights tours, PU course visits, activities in the Creativity Labs, public programs, and membership programs.
- Promote Art Museum membership and facilitate membership sign-ups.
- Conduct visitor evaluations.
- Track and record daily attendance.
- Participate in mandatory team training and continuing education programs that include special exhibition materials and resources.
- Lead highlights tours of the collection galleries.
- Complete other tasks as needed.
- Responsible for finding substitutes for any shifts the VERs cannot fulfill, especially last-minute cancellations, and a willingness to sub-contract for other team members as needed.
- A flexible work schedule is required, which includes hours on Saturdays, Sundays, and some evenings. Approximately 10-14 hours per week.
- Training will be provided, including emergency preparedness procedures.
- Customer service experience required: experience working with the public, serving as front-line staff, and/or a penchant for connecting with visitors in a public forum.
- Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with diverse audiences are required.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
- Commitment to providing current, accurate, and helpful information.
- A willingness to engage in continuous learning about the collections, exhibitions, and events.
- Proactive approach and solution-oriented attitude.
- A background in art history is not necessary; a passion for the arts is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, and Zoom is preferred.
- Experience working with EMS or other calendaring systems.
- Fluency in more than one language is a plus.
