This individual may receive, sort, compound, process and prepare medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist. As the intern progresses, and demonstrates an increase in ability, the preceptor will grant increased responsibility. Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:Accepted to a Doctor of Pharmacy program at a degree granting institution or enrolled in their first year of a Doctor of Pharmacy program at a degree granting institution. TRAINING DESCRIPTION:Must complete a competency checklist within three months of completing orientation and training sessions. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:Ability to communicate effectively with other health care professionals and patients. Ability to prioritize responsibilities in order to optimize patient care and minimize adverse outcomes. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
