In this role, you'll support business growth across North America by delivering technical and application expertise in heat exchangers, while collaborating with a focused team to advance our key components portfolio in the Americas.We're looking for a technically skilled professional with an engineering background and deep knowledge of heat transfer in liquid food applications. You bring energy, strong networking abilities, and the confidence to work independently while collaborating across borders. Your experience in customer-facing environments, stakeholder management, and excellent communication skills will be essential to your success.You can expect to travel up to 25-50% of your time.This position reports to the Director Channel Mgt, Strategic Partnership & Technical Support and is based in Vernon Hills, IL United States.Tetra Pak is not sponsoring work visas or relocation for this position.What you will doAs Business Development Manager - Heat Exchangers, you will lead the development of our heat exchanger business across North America, providing technical expertise and application support. You'll collaborate with a focused team to grow the key components portfolio in the Americas.Key responsibilities include:
  • Identifying, evaluating, and driving new areas of future growth.
  • Define and execute a regional portfolio strategy aligned with global directives and tailored to local market needs.
  • Ensure scalability and ROI across diverse country-specific contexts.
  • Translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans with clear targets, ownership, and cross-functional support.
  • Monitor progress and ensure alignment across responsible markets.
  • Develop business cases and deployment plans for product launches, upgrades, or phase-outs based on market demand and profitability.
  • Oversee commercial deals, ensuring compliance with pricing, margin, and risk protocols.
  • Manage opportunity pipelines to improve win rates and address underperforming markets.
  • Analyze customer needs and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Regional Channel Managers on tactical initiatives and channel development.
  • Contribute to innovation by identifying new products, services, and emerging market trends.
  • Lead sales support activities, including customer and channel engagement (travel: 25-50%).
  • Track pipeline performance, including wins/losses, strike ratios, and market challenges.
  • Coordinate proposal follow-ups to ensure momentum and conversion.
We believe you have
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, ideally in heat exchangers; experience in other food processing applications is also valuable
  • Strong technical understanding of heat exchangers is essential
  • Experience in dealing with higher-level executives among customers and managing a broad internal and external stakeholder network.
  • Experience in developing and participating in business strategy planning.
  • Experience in strategy management. Strong vision to spot business opportunities and industry changes.
  • Should demonstrate strong business acumen, a strategic mindset, and a high level of customer orientation.
  • Should be a highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude, open-minded, capable of developing effective relationships and working across boundaries and levels within the organization.
  • Ability to understand the nuances of different cultures and navigate global business environments with ease.
Pay EquityTetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations.Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include overtime, annual performance bonus, competitive benefits, and work-related allowances.Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $100,100.00- $157, 100.00.Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS.Benefits: 401k company match, paid time off, paid holidays, health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, company credit card, and much more!We Offer You
