JOB TITLE: EMS Field Supervisor-ParamedicDEPARTMENT: Emergency Medical ServicesREPORTS TO: Emergency Medical Services DirectorJOB SUMMARYThe Field Supervisor-Paramedic will assist in day-to-day operations including facilitation of internal communication between field staff and management, outside agency interface, system status monitoring, facilitating short-term scheduling needs, equipment and supply maintenance, as well as other operational support functions as assigned by the EMS Director.JOB REQUIREMENTSCurrently licensed as a Wyoming EMT-Paramedic and National Registry – Paramedic. Must be at least 21 years old.EXPERIENCETwo years of EMS pre-hospital preferred. Two years of EMS supervisory experience preferred.SKILLS

  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new computer software applications.
  • Ability to assess and treat patients to the US DOT and Wyoming Office of EMS, EMT- Paramedic level.

  • Direct, monitor, communicate with and evaluate all CRH – EMS field employees
  • Liaison with patients, public safety agencies, training institutions, hospital personnel, and other system users.
  • Ensure maintenance of quality field operations through daily contact, oversight, communication, and evaluation.
  • Prepare employee evaluations and field crew contact reports.
  • Provide staff counseling and guidance and information regarding operations.
  • Ensure maintenance of adequate levels of staffing, equipment and medical supplies for field units.
  • Responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal employment laws and organization policies
  • Prepare reports and manages projects as assigned by EMS Director.
  • Is knowledgeable of and works within all pertinent, established CRH and CRH Emergency Medical Services Policies, Procedures and Protocols.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills.
  • Functions as a Paramedic when staffing the Ambulance.
  • Review crew documentation, assist with clinical issues in department.
  • Assure that all ambulances and stations are kept clean, stocked and ready for use.
  • Supervise staff in keeping equipment clean and in good repair. Orient staff to safety procedures in the units.
  • Mentor, develop, train, over-see orientation/preceptorships and in-service staff.
  • Maintains competency on all equipment within scope of practice.
  • Treats patients, public and other healthcare providers and public safety personnel with respect and dignity.
  • Maintains a professional appearance of the approved uniform and dress code in accordance to the CRH EMS Uniform Policy.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Acts at all times in a professional manner and shall be able to handle conflict situations with good judgment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by EMS Director.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to safely operate an ambulance in non-emergency and emergency driving conditions.
  • Assist in the Emergency Department under the direction and supervision of ED physician.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the geographic area, street system, and demographics of CRH EMS coverage area.
  • Assist in community service events.
  • Assist other agencies with training.
  • Works on special projects as assigned by the EMS Department Director.
  • Respects the dignity, welfare, and basic rights of all patients and employees.
  • Maintain insurability for hospital motor vehicle coverage.
