  • Educated and Ready to Start: You have taken the time and worked hard to get your degree. You have either obtained your Bachelors of Science alongside 4 to 8 years of relevant experience, or you have your Masters and about 2 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Trusted: You have the ability to maintain a security clearance, specifically Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance. Though, an Interim Secret clearance is also acceptable.
  • Network Focused: You have 2 plus years of experience in design, development, integration, implementation, operation and analysis of enterprise-level networking products, firewalls, packet brokers, log aggregators, intrusion detection systems, etc. You must be able to support the daily maintenance, configuration, and security of all assigned network products. You also have to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other system administrators, system engineers, and network engineers in a team environment.
  • Knowledgeable: You are a fantastic test taker and you’re pretty smart. You worked hard for one of the following certifications:
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP)
  • Or any other DoD 8570 IAT III certification
  • Compliance and Information Assurance: The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
  • Experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, i.e., STIG and DSS compliance, documentation, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in Azure security design, engineering, and operations
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 series or ISO 27000 series documents
What we do:The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is a bureau within the Department of Commerce (DOC) focused on understanding and predicting changes in the Earth's environment. The demand for NOAA’s products and information continues to grow as global climate change and the threat of natural disasters remain at the forefront of the Nation’s attention. Fusion Technology aims to protect the delivery of this critical demand by modernizing NOAA’s IT security infrastructure, increasing security awareness throughout the department, and coordinating security efforts with the intelligence community and stakeholders.What you’ll do:
  • Design, develop, plan, integrate, and test enterprise-level network and network security products with minimal oversight
  • Provide executive summary briefings and technical deep dives with senior program management
  • Provide design and vendor recommendations to senior customer management
  • Maintain network security devices, to include firewalls, packet brokers, log aggregators, intrusion detection systems, etc., through deployment
  • Work directly with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, customers, and partner organizations, throughout the planning, designing, and deployment of enterprise-level network and network security products with minimal oversight
  • Participate in Teams meetings, providing input and suggestions, and prepare minutes of discussion items
