
Associate Scientist, Chemistry II

- The candidate will be responsible for developing organic chemistry processes and executing on scale to provide practical access to potential therapies, which may include small molecules and/or antibody drug conjugates.
- The position involves multi-disciplinary interactions with organic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers, and solid-state scientists.
- Perform routine tasks competently and independently, and generate reliable and consistent data.
- Analyze and critique data, noting significant observations and deviations.
- Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation.
- Learn and understand new experimental techniques.
- Place data in proper scientific context by consulting and citing relevant literature.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in field of expertise (Organic Chemistry).
- Impact projects predominantly through lab and/or pilot-plant or manufacturing scale activities.
- Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable.
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent education, with typically 3 or more years' experience or Master's Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience).
- Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out job function.
- A range of functional expertise in modern synthetic organic chemistry, compound purification, spectral analysis and interpretation.
- An ability to search the chemical literature and evaluate potential solutions to synthetic problems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- ~10% of travel expected
