Join us.We are adding a Process Engineer to our Millersburg, Oregon location! The Process Engineer provides technical and manufacturing process support for identifying and eliminating sources of variation and for establishing standards, best practices, and performance metrics on the shop floor. This position will report to Operations as part of the Chemical Operations Division. The Process Engineer will be a master problem solver and lead processes that will ensure that we are achieving conformance and producing quality product that meets our customer requirements and ATI goals and objectives.In order to become successful and provide immediate impact, you will have to quickly learn ATI, the Chemical Operations Division, and multiple chemical processes, while working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including a unionized workforce, engineering, quality, and safety. Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, the ability to act quickly and make impactful decisions, and exceptional interpersonal skills are included in the skillset of a successful Process Engineer.Additional Responsibilities
- Consistently demonstrate safety and protecting the environment as a core value
- Conduct daily review of logbooks and alarm histories to stay actively engaged with daily activities; maintain close relationship and awareness to issues with the Operators
- Support daily management huddles (Level I) and lead daily management area rack-ups (Level II) to support real-time problem-solving of safety and operations escalation issues
- Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal process performance
- Champion the regular review of trends and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts
- Implement and maintain production loss/waste tracking system and paretos
- Analyze existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, and propose solutions to enhance operational performance
- Serve as the process owner for assigned processes; lead escalation to acquire support from the enterprise or external as needed
- Resolve production, equipment, quality and safety problems, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions; respond with urgency to production problems and emergencies
- Provide insights into process needs for capital and major maintenance projects; support supply of basic data that is essential to front end loading of capital projects, and own operations readiness for commissioning
- Monitor incoming quality of raws/chemicals and collaborate with Procurement on improvement initiatives
- Provide planning rate inputs to Supply Chain Planners for use in S&OP process; ensure consistency to data-derived and improvement-quantified forecasts that will deliver to the customer with confidence
- Establish and document standards and best practices for Chemical Operations processes
- Support development and/or revise work instructions, Quality System documents, material specs, and SWTE documents
- Pull on and support continuous improvement initiatives assigned to the area
- Provide support and collaborate with network of Process Engineers for consistency
- Support data acquisition for various assessments (eg business case development, consultant assessments, etc)
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
