- Specification of wide temperature range hardware solutions for controlling electromechanical flight hardware and for transmitting data and commands between the flight hardware and the vehicle-level controller.
- Identify, flow down, and track requirements (customer and derived) throughout the program life cycle.
- Identify risks, develop risk statements, and to help plan risk responses as needed.
- Perform technical design trades.
- Formulate minimum-cost/maximum value Verification and Validation plans.
- Generate documentation such as technical memorandums, analysis reports, design and development books, or product manuals.
- Coordinate with Systems Engineering in order to facilitate integration of electrical engineering deliverables with those developed by other teams.
- Execute independent projects that are part of larger programs while achieving the technical scope on budget and on schedule.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to present technical and programmatic progress and as well as challenges that must be overcome.
- Knowledge and experience with the electrical engineering product lifecycle, ranging from requirements development through parts selection, design, manufacture, test, and operations.
- Knowledge of Military, NASA, and JEDEC specifications and requirements related to electronic components.
- Knowledge and experience in EMI/EMC (MIL-STD-461) Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, design engineers, line management, and project management.
- Knowledge of, and skills in: NASA human spaceflight electrical engineering design standards, hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes and Review Panel (SRP) Process.
- Working knowledge of NASA and ISS standard practices and requirements including safety, fault tolerance, and other unique disciplines.
- Proficiency with Spice circuit simulation software.
- Skills with test hardware such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, power analyzers.
- Ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken form. Skill in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, positive work relationships; have creativity, flexibility and resourcefulness; have discriminating judgment, tact and sense of humor.
- Ability to serve as project lead on projects. Ideally, but not required, skills in refining project budgeting and forecasting.
- An ABET accredited bachelor's degree in electrical engineering field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in design.

- Ability and willingness to travel at a minimum of 2 weeks per year.
