- Design, develop and realize new effect pigment products.
- Independently perform necessary laboratory experiments and deliver projects on time and on budget.
- Characterize and evaluate R&D concept samples via new and established laboratory test methods.
- Independent analysis and interpretation of experimental results; subsequent planning of experimental work as function of experimental data.
- Thorough documentation of laboratory experiments and preparation of technical reports.
- Collaborate with various other teams, such as applications science, technical service, analytical, manufacturing, marketing and product management to achieve technical targets.
- Effectively communicate with internal and external customers, demonstrate strong written and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Material Science.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent lab analysis including the interpretation of experimental data.
- Experience in inorganic chemistry specialization is preferred.
- Experience of the coatings and color cosmetics industries is desirable.
- Preferred technical skills include hands-on expertise in the synthesis of advanced functional materials (e.g. nanoparticles, structured composites) and thorough experimental knowledge of fine particles, surface and inorganic materials chemistry.
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in critical thinking and data analysis.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines are critical.
- Proficiency with standard computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
