Base Salary: $15–$17/hr + commensurate with experience
PTO (prorated for part-time employees) and Holiday Pay (where applicable)

Position Summary
Terraces at DeKalb is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper / Janitor to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our apartment community. This individual will handle the cleaning of vacant apartments, laundry facilities, leasing offices, and all shared interior spaces.Ideal Candidate

You work well independently, pay close attention to detail, and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves to get the job done right.Core ResponsibilitiesCommon Area Cleaning & Sanitation

Clean and sanitize interior common areas, including:

Hallways, stairwells, entryways, and lobbiesLaundry rooms and leasing officesCommunity rooms and shared restrooms (if applicable)

Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and light switches
Ensure all areas remain tidy, clean, and stocked with supplies during your shift

Vacant Unit Turnovers

Perform deep cleaning of apartments after residents move out, including:

Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floorsCleaning kitchen appliances, cabinets, counters, and sinksSanitizing bathrooms (toilets, tubs, mirrors, tile)Dusting baseboards, windowsills, and light fixturesLight Maintenance Support

Notify the maintenance team of any damage or repair needs
Assist with supply inventory and report when cleaning products need restocking

Job Requirements

At least 1 year of janitorial or housekeeping experience preferred
Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 30 lbs
Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
Basic knowledge of cleaning tools and supplies; understanding of chemical safety
Good communication and time management skills
Reliable, professional, and courteous attitude

Preferred Skills (Not Required)

Experience cleaning apartment communities or commercial properties
Familiarity with light maintenance tools or tasks
Willingness to learn and follow OSHA safety guidelines
