- Lead the end-to-end development of advanced machinery-designing, programming, assembling, and testing systems to optimize production efficiency, plant flow, and safety protocols.
- Create and update detailed electrical design documentation, including schematics, panel layouts, cable routing diagrams, and parts lists using SolidWorks Electrical or comparable software.
- Conduct technical assessments such as power load evaluations and ensure all designs comply with standards like NFPA 70, UL, IEC, and other relevant codes.
- Diagnose complex electrical and signal-related issues using advanced instrumentation (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers) and capture findings in detailed reports for future reference.
- Support capital equipment initiatives by coordinating with external suppliers, drafting functional specifications, and assisting in the review of equipment qualifications.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation such as SOPs, safety guidelines, test protocols, validation reports, and engineering standards.
- Develop schedules, budgets, and detailed project outlines for engineering activities while ensuring transparent updates on key milestones.
- Investigate root causes of automation faults and implement robust corrective actions to enhance long-term system reliability.
- Support ad-hoc assignments and contribute to cross-functional R&D initiatives as directed by the team leader.
- A degree in engineering (B.S. or M.S.) is required-specialization in Electrical Engineering is ideal, though candidates from other technical backgrounds will be evaluated based on relevant expertise.
- Minimum of four years of hands-on experience driving product or manufacturing process innovation within an engineering-focused environment.
- Proven history working with and integrating industrial automation components, including motion platforms, servo technologies, robotic systems, machine vision, and certified safety hardware.
- Skilled in the use of electrical design software tools (such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar platforms) to produce complete design packages, from schematics to material takeoffs.
- Solid understanding of compliance and regulatory codes related to machinery and control systems, such as NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 79, UL 508A, and applicable international standards (IEC/EN).
- Strong working knowledge of electrical fundamentals, including AC/DC theory and both single-phase and three-phase power systems.
- Hands-on experience in designing and assembling custom control panels for automation equipment-this includes selecting hardware, optimizing layouts, and ensuring adherence to applicable standards.
- Ability to perform risk-based evaluations (e.g., FMEA), participate in formal design reviews, and proactively identify safety or performance concerns.
- Familiarity with document control workflows, specification generation, revision protocols, and working within certified quality frameworks such as ISO.
