Position Summary:The First Year Troop Support Specialist supports member retention by providing intentional support to new troops and troop leaders during their first year as a Girl Scout troop. The First Year Troop Support Specialist will provide support and mentoring to all first year troops in assigned geographic areas.Key Responsibilities:
Provides ongoing support to first year troops in assigned geographic area.
Supports all first year troops with parent-engagement, and orientation to the Girl Scout Leadership experience by attending four troop meetings through the first troop year.
Introduces all new troops to Volunteer Toolkit by providing one-to-one VTK orientation.
Orients troop volunteers to their specific troop roles, including troop leader, co-leader, product program manager, treasurer, etc.
Provides first-level conflict resolution for new troops per processes, as assigned.
Encourages first year volunteers to participate in training opportunities.
Optimizes the use of technology, including Salesforce, and web-based video conferencing to provide support to members.
Utilizes data analysis software to track, organize and analyze membership information.
Supports overall customer support plan by providing assistance for customers via retail curbside as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including regularly working evenings and weekends.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional software programs as necessary.
Bachelor's degree with concentration in related field or equivalent experience.
Ability travel to service centers and to meetings throughout the designated territory.
