(Cabarrus County), with an overall mission to provide committed juveniles with a safe, secure environment that fosters healthy decision-making and personal responsibility.
  • Employee must have a specific knowledge of the Child Nutrition Program, State and Federal guidelines and regulations, and the Department's operational policies and procedures.
  • Employee must accurately follow recipes, complete production record documentation, serve correct pre-portioned amount of food, follow federal traditional, enhanced meal pattern (serve the required food components (milk, bread, meat, fruit, vegetable).
  • Employee must accurately assist supervisor with maintaining and completing required documentation for the HACCP Binders.
  • Physical effort required will vary in frequency, however, normal cafeteria types of physical effort will be the majority of physical activity.
*Must complete food safety certification or training class (take and pass ServSafe or equivalent exam or receive food safety training class).*Work Schedule:This is a full-time position. education and/or experience directly related to the job and consistent with accepted practices or the trade equivalent to two years of experience in a commercial and/or institutional kitchen.Necessary Special Qualification:Applicants for positions designated as Juvenile Justice Officers are subject to and must meet the hiring and training standards established by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission, as defined in Title 12, Chapter 9 of the NC Administrative Code, by the statutory authority of GS 17C.Selected applicant must attend and successfully complete and pass the Juvenile Justice Officer Basic Training certification program. The certification requires four weeks to complete and is comprised of classroom and physically demanding training. This training is carried out at regional training centers and requires consecutive overnight stays.
