The Learning & Development Administrator (LDA) plays a crucial role at our organization, working under the Senior Director of People & Culture. This position is guided by our core values and strategic goals to manage and implement training programs. These programs are essential not only for meeting legal and funding requirements but also for equipping our staff with the skills and knowledge they need for their roles. The LDA collaborates across departments to coordinate employee orientations, management training, and both soft skills r job of having managers add in the impact compliance training programs.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Training Coordination: Collaborate with the People Operations Specialist and Manager to organize and execute a quarterly orientation for all new hires across the organization. This includes managing the orientation content and ensuring it's up-to-date and engaging.
  • Platform Management: Oversee and manage our training platforms (e.g., Healthicity and Rise), ensuring they are correctly set up, users are current, and training requirements are properly assigned and monitored with consistent and thorough follow-up.
  • Manager Support: Facilitate programs to support managers and supervisors, providing them with the necessary resources, training, and information to lead their teams effectively. This includes managing the monthly People & Culture Newsletter, Manager & Supervisor meetings, and the Emerging Managers Training program.
Other Duties:
  • Training Documentation: Support the broader People and Culture team by tracking annual trainings, updating policies, and facilitating volunteer training as needed.
  • Address Training Gaps: Work with the People & Culture and Equity & Health Justice teams to analyze data (e.g., exit and engagement surveys) to identify training needs and develop strategies to address these gaps.

  • Proficiency in using office equipment like computers, copiers, and phones.

Education and Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources and Learning & Development, preferably in a non-profit healthcare or social service setting.
  • Experience in designing and leading both in-person and virtual training sessions for an audience with a diversity of skill levels, perspectives, lived experiences, and learning methodologies.
  • Experience in the field of HIV/AIDS and harm reduction with familiarity of programs offered by organizations serving SFAF’s priority communities. is preferred.
Work Environment:
  • This is a hybrid position, the LDA may choose to work remotely up to approximately 80% with occasional requirements to work on-site at our headquarters in San Francisco or travel to other locations as determined in the sole discretion of SFAF.
  • Travel expenses for commuting to SFAF offices are not reimbursable.
  • May require evening and weekend work.
