- Triages urgent/emergent services to residents across campus as needed. Assesses resident's condition and nursing care needs and initiates 911, direct admission or recommendations as needed. Maintains appropriate documentation of nursing observations, including follow-up documentation in the medical record in accordance with acceptable medical standards or practice.
- Notify physicians of change in residents' condition according to policy and acceptable professional standards. Notifies family of change in resident's condition or hospitalization according to policy. Report to oncoming staff on the next shift concerning the condition of the residents or any unusual occurrences as appropriate.
- Pronounces death in the absence of provider and make all appropriate notifications and documentation.
- Maintains standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the Masonic Village.
- Maintains compliance with yearly education requirements in accordance with Masonic Village policies, maintains competencies and skills though continuing education programs.
- Maintains nursing license and knowledge of OSHA, Department of Human Services regulations as well as other local, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively and in a non-aggressive manner with residents, family members, visitors and co-workers. Establish and maintain a collaborative communication with providers, other health professionals and Masonic Village departments. Provides appropriate follow-up as needed with residents returning from the hospital or with MV departments.
- Maintains CPR certification and initiates CPR and/or emergency measures in accordance with Masonic Village policies and medical directives.
- Functions as an advocate for the resident and resident's family by supplying and interpreting information supporting decisions and facilitating communications.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
- Current RN licensure by the PA State Board of Nursing Required.
- CPR Certification prior to or upon employment required.
- Computer skills required. Experience with an electronic medical record preferred.
