Manager SalesPURPOSEThe purpose of the Sales Manager position is to perpetuate and implement company strategies and policies to increase sales growth. The Sales Manager will be responsible for managing and directing all sales activities within their designated responsibilities. Additional responsibility is to lead, guide, coach, mentor, and manage the sales team with the goal of increasing market share.ESSENTIAL DUTIESRecruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team capable of achieving sales objectives.Set clear performance expectations, sales targets, and KPIs for team members.Develop and implement local sales initiatives in line with national sales strategyDrive account growth and increased market penetration within assigned geographic territoryConduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive offeringsMonitor sales productivity within assigned geographic territoryElevate and report market trends, developments and competitor information to sales management as necessaryEnsure adherence to all applicable cost control measuresAccurately forecast sales dollars based on territory account alignmentCreate and manage profitable relationships between distributors, customers, and other SMC representativesTraining of junior level sales staff in SMC products, industries and customers, as well as sales skills and SMC sales tool use and resource identificationConduct distributor training as necessary to ensure proper understanding of SMC products and industries to drive market penetration growth through SMC business partnersMonitor and leverage your team in CRM activity for sales calls, projects, opportunities, contacts, leads, success reports and tasks assignedDevelopment of junior level sales professionals for future management roles – coach, guide, leadRepresent SMC at industry trade shows and local job fairsDefine and implement standardized sales process, methods, and best practices to streamline operations and improve efficiencyCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to align sales efforts with company objectivesLeverage CRM systems and sales analytics tools to track sales performance, forecast revenuePHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENTFast-paced environment (includes both office and field work)Travel with some extended stay away from homePhysically capable of lifting SMC products and displays up to 50 lbs.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related technical field, or equivalent experienceMinimum of three (3) years of supervisory experienceMinimum of three (3) years of experience with SMC or equivalent industrial sales experienceSuccessfully complete the Sales Management trainingThorough knowledge of SMC products and proceduresThorough knowledge of SMC Sales strategiesExcellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skillsProficient in CRM and the use of computers and ability to learn new programs and tools as requiredClean driving recordFor internal use only:Sales001
