The primary roles of the Senior Cathodic Protection/Integrity Engineer are:This role will serve as a “seller-doer” to manage business development and pursuit strategies and working towards growing our business in this area.Design and evaluation of Cathodic Protection (CP) systems and stray current mitigation (field and office)To assist our AC mitigation team in field data collectionTo perform third party reviews of reports and designs related to corrosion and cathodic protection.Contribute to Stantec Specifications, Procedures and Standards as part of Stantec’s continuous improvement.To assist in integrity assessments including fitness for service, defect assessments, risk assessments, and varying other integrity program activities. Your ResponsibilitiesDelivery of accurate, timely and cost effective integrity services that meet client, Stantec and industry/regulatory standardsKeep current on applicable pipeline and integrity codes and standardsDesign CP systems and DC interference mitigation systems, as well as assist in AC mitigation designs as requiredAssessment of CP (and potentially AC interference) survey dataThird party review of CP and AC interference designs, reports, and inspection and commissioning data.Perform engineering calculations (resistance, attenuation, current distribution, etc.)Coordinate engineering aspects of installation of stray current mitigation and cathodic protection systemsDeliver high quality technical reportsDevelop detailed designs as required and collaborate with drafting personnel to prepare design drawing packagesPotential field work consisting of soil resistivity testing, structure potentials, right-of-way evaluations, and constructability assessments for AC mitigation and cathodic protection systemsPrepare technical assessment and design reports, as well as procedures and specificationsSupport maintenance and updates to assessment criteria in accordance with evolving industry practices and stay abreast of emerging technologiesOther integrity and pipeline engineering responsibilities including participating in varying projects on an as needed basisLiaise with other divisions of StantecComply with Stantec’s EH&S program, with a focus on safety in the fieldAdhere to Stantec’s engineering Quality SystemEstablish and maintain positive client relationshipsMentor junior personnel and collaborate with other peersStrengthen knowledge through on-the-job, informal and formal trainingYour Capabilities and CredentialsUniversity Degree in an engineering discipline (corrosion, electrical, or materials engineering is preferred.)Professional Engineer (P.E.), RequiredFive to Ten (5-10) years of work experience in the corrosion industry required.Experienced with working with TXDOT and other public utilities is a plus.Experienced with working with Federal projects is a plus.Minimum AMPP certification level CP2 is required.
