Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner is seeking a patient, innovative programmer who is creative, friendly, compassionate and organized. This person will be creating, scheduling and implementing therapeutic programs for our a small cohort of Assisted Living residents who are experiencing and adjusting to living with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner's caring and compassionate programming team members provide therapeutic opportunities and meaningful engagement our senior residents. . AVAILABLE SHIFTS:Every other Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Thursday: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PMDriving Hours: Monday-Thursday with flexible hours for a minimum of 2 hours per day to accommodate outings and medical appointmentsPAY & BENEFITS:Rates start at $17 per hourOur comprehensive standard benefits program starts on the day of hire and includes paid time off, holiday pay, health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield, dental, and vision insurance, disability coverage, complimentary life insurance and a pre-tax retirement savings plan with a company match. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
  • Form meaningful relationships with residents and families;
  • Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily therapeutic programming schedule for 7 days per week;
  • Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors;
  • Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site
  • Assist with support group and educational sessions for families and staff
  • Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media
  • Drive the van in a safe, courteous, and reliable manner
  • Assist residents in and out of the van at all times
  • Properly secure equipment including wheelchairs
  • Maintain a clean driving record
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred. Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
  • Physical requirements: Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance)
  • Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
  • Punctuality & reliability - Our residents rely on us to assist them with their daily living activities and we expect our associates to deliver on this promise.
  • License requirements: Valid driver's license and clean driving record; Must be able to be insured by community auto insurance (25+ years of age)
