OverviewThis position will primarily be working at St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota. This position will also provide coverage at these other locations: OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center Ottawa, OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center Peru and OSF St. Clare Medical Center in Princeton.Monday-Friday - mostly day shift but will need to work 2nd shift; working every 4th or 5th weekend.POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately and safely dispensed, delivered, charged and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires the Technician to be proficient in both dispensing oral medications and in preparation of I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care that is appropriate to the ages of the patients served, including neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Work involves standing, lifting and walking continually while in the process of performing duties.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GEDLicenses/Certifications: ​PHTC2 - Pharmacy Tech Certification (tracked by HR) Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) validated by PTCB or National Healthcareer CertificationExperience: ​At least 18 years of ageOther skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: 1 year pharmacy.
