
Machine Maintenance Tech III

- The purpose of the Machine Maintenance Technician III is to provide production equipment support for all equipment allocated to the factory as well as assist engineering with production related projects.
- Adherence to all department work instructions
- Repair and maintain all production equipment, both electrical and mechanical
- Assist engineering as required with special machine related projects
- Execute machine upgrades, modifications and complete machine overhauls when required
- Work with CNC and PLC controlled machines
- Initiate or enhance the preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment
- Calibrate automated testing machines
- Maintain and order repair parts for production equipment consistent with SMC established procedures
- Application of root-cause analysis for repetitive equipment failures
- Ensure respective area is compliant with 5S standards
- Maintain daily log of work in established SMC systems
- Assist in the training of individuals with less experience and tenure on established maintenance standards and practices
- Mentor individuals in less experienced positions to prepare them for movement to higher level positions
- Project initiation and supervision
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle lift or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- The person is frequently required to climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.
- The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust, Oil, Grease and Possible Heights
- Associates degree in a technical related field or equivalent experience
- More than 10 years prior experience in the Equipment Maintenance field
- Prior experience with CNC and PLC controlled equipment
- Preventative maintenance skills and calibration experience are required
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Detail oriented
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Experienced with MS Office programs
