  • New process development and process optimization in the areas of material storage/conveyance, inventory management, and transportation
  • Ensures compliance with established industry safety standards.
  • Evaluates process productivity and recommends improvements to increase efficiency & performance
  • Recommends concepts for facility layout, space planning & capacity enhancements.
  • Leads capital improvement projects: From proposal to approval to implementation (i.e. Innovative technologies such as automated guided vehicles (AGV), autonomous mobile robots (AMR), and automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS) to improve labor and space efficiency.
Basic Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current and future logistics processes
  • Identify cost-reduction or process-improvement opportunities within the logistics organization
  • Design, maintain, and optimize warehouse facility layouts
  • Develop specifications, installation and training plans for new equipment and/or material-handling systems. Including proposal of Preventive Maintenance & Spare part planning
  • Support continuous improvement activities by analyzing data, performing cycle time analysis and completing capacity studies for warehouse and conveyance operations
  • Evaluate and implement innovative technologies to improve labor and space efficiency
  • Manage projects with internal/external customers & contractors including the following activities: budgetary planning, quotation, procurement, implementation, process validation, and process sustainment
  • Assess the environmental impact and/or energy efficiency of logistics activities
  • Perform other responsibilities as required by business need
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree or higher in Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited program
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to manage activities of a complex nature where there are limited precedents
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently & effectively with multi-disciplined cross-functional teams
  • Ability to develop and closely follow schedules while achieving due dates
  • Desire to learn and master new methods and technology
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
  • Ability to think 'outside the box' and develop clever, unique solutions to problems
  • Ability to adapt to ever changing work requirements, tasks, and environments
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access & Project)
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drawing software
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work overtimes, as required
