The primary purpose of this position under limited supervision applies considerable warehouse knowledge to perform a broad range of Receiving tasks which include but are not limited to unloading of inbound freight and loading of outbound freight. Responsible for operating machinery (Electric Stand Up Forklift) for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, picking and preparing merchandise, as well as accurate sorting of inbound product and processing of receiving paperwork.Job ResponsibilitiesBartell Drugs, your neighborhood drug store since 1890, is looking for dependable, industrious associates to join our team!Our Distribution Center is in Des Moines, WA on 24th Avenue S. Starting pay is $18.50 - $20.86 per hour depending on position, skills, and experience with a generous benefit package (eligible the first of the month after starting) and a respectful work environment.Day Shift Positions
  • Position: Warehouse II / III, Receiver MHE/PIT Operator (Stand Up Forklift / Reach Truck or Cherry Picker)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (occasional Saturday mornings, if needed)
  • Hours: 6:00 am to completed (about 8-10 hours / shift during busy season)
  • Depending upon daily job assignment as Receiver or Loader the associate will perform one of the following; Receiver - Unload and unpack incoming shipments according to predetermined guidelines. Verify the contents of inbound shipments with purchase orders to ensure all items were received. Examine all products for defects and record on packing slip and freight bill. (BOL) Loader - Establish trailer loading sequence guidelines based on type of of stores projects. Load completed pallets and hand-load additional picked product onto outbound trailers for shipment to the stores.
  • Review orders for shipment, pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform duties in an efficient manner that adheres to company standards.
  • Operate any material handling equipment safely and efficiently and according to the proper procedures.
  • Verify the quantity and type of product received to ensure inbound shipments are correct; place tags that contain the appropriate slot number on received product.
  • Use the Item System menu program to properly tag inbound and outbound product. Identify common product and parts without the use of SKU numbers. Assist with physical inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
