Are you ready to make your impact to help pets?What you’ll do here:Manage daily financial and accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, journal entry preparation and reconciliations.Assist in ensuring compliance with all regulatory and treasury reporting, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution of all operational recordkeeping and documentation for reporting purposes.Management of audit, research accounting issues impacting Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and deploy solutions.Verify posted transactions, reconciliation of general ledger and banking accounts, and follow through on variances to ensure complete and accurate data in a timely manner.Oversees management of credit cards and expense report reimbursements.Develop, implement, and enforce the policies and procedures.Effectively manage treasury and cash-flows. This includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash-flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash-balances, control mechanisms, timely deposits of all funds and coordination with FP&A on cash-flow forecasting.Ensures that reported results comply with GAAP.Researches and implements technical accounting standardsInvestigate and critique variances to budget for the prior year and offer practical improvement methodologies to management.Analyze financial data and operations to assist and advise in maintaining the financial objectives of the organization.Identify and lead process improvement opportunitiesEvaluate and implement internal controls for all financial and accounting compliance.Manages team on monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process, statements and variances, ensures balance sheet reconciliations are correct and reported on time/ compiled for monthly reporting documents and analysis.Additional job duties as neededWhat you’ll bring to the team:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting5-7+ years of accounting experience2-3+ years of supervisory or management experience.Strong GAAP and financial-reporting skills.Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes.Highly proficient in time management, critical-thinking, organization, and detail-oriented.Strong focus on process-improvement to drive efficiencies and mitigate risks.Advanced technical skills using Microsoft Office, specificallyDisplays a willingness and commitment to continuous learning and processAbility to develop interactive working relationships with internal and external contactsAbility to handle confidential informationPrevious experience leading a team of employees, with focus on delegation and ability to be assertive when necessary.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsPrior experience with QuickBooks online or comparable enterprise level computer systems preferredCPA or CMA preferredPublic Accounting Experience preferredExperience working in Insurance or a Third-Party Administrator would be an added bonusWhere you’ll work: This is a hybrid opportunity.Why you might love working here:Whether you work at CP HQ or join our team remotely, get ready to be greeted by our furry associates as pets are at the center of everything we do!
