Principal Software Development Engineer - Embedded-Onsite PositionWe are growing and looking for a Principal Software Development Embedded Engineer to join our team in Santa Clarita, CA!As our Principal Software Engineer you will plan, design, develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products. Criteria such as the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience, the scope of the specific position, as well as market and business considerations will be evaluated when extending an offer.Your ChallengeSoftware architecture for new embedded systems per customer specificationsPlan, design, develop, and test new software or complex enhancements to existing software for embedded systems based on specifications in compliance to industrial, military and aerospace standardsImplement and integrate, or debug embedded software (C / C++)Support and closely collaborate with systems engineering and hardware development teamsWork with technical staff to create sustainable solutions and develop resolutions for software and/or hardware problemsResolve customer complaints with software and respond to suggestions for software modifications or enhancementsAssist in the development of software user manuals and software design and test documentationDevelopment tools: CM (Subversion, GIT), IDEs (Visual Studio, Eclipse-based), command line (gnu), DOORS, JIRA, MS OfficeWhat You BringBS Degree in Electrical, Software, or Computer EngineeringAt least 10 years of related experience (6+ years experience developing software systems and 4+ years software project lead experience)Proficient with requirements management (IBM Rational DOORS experience)Fluency in embedded (C/C++) software developmentProficiency in Linux software device drivers and application developmentFamiliarity with virtualization concepts and LynxOS Hypervisor preferredProficiency in Wind River Linux/Red Hat/Lynx OS build environment is desirableRealtime safety critical software development is desirableFull software lifecycle development in accordance with DO-178C and CMMIBuilding and installing open-source applicationsDebugging tools (e.g., GDB, strace, /proc, Background Debug Mode)Lab debugging equipment (Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG emulators)Fundamental understanding of software regression testing/verificationFamiliarity with industry guidelines and standards for engineering processesScripting languages (e.g., bash)Python programming experience is desirableFamiliarity with GreenHills Multi SW Development Suite, COSMIC SW Development Suite, ClearQuest, VectorCAST, LabVIEWStrong communication and collaboration skills, and proficiency with MS officeWho We Are:The Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions facility in Santa Clarita, California is the center of excellence for hardware level system integration and advanced package design.Integrated Systems in Santa Clarita prides itself on experience, expertise, and low risk solutions.
