Job Summary:As a Staff Physical Therapy Assistant, .Responsibilities:
Work closely with a physical therapist to execute treatment plans designed to improve patients' mobility, strength, and overall functionality
Consult with designated physical therapist regarding patients’ progress and/or need to modify treatment plans/established plan of care as necessary
Implement therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, and modalities under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist
Monitor and document patient progress, including changes in mobility, pain levels, and functional abilities
Provide education to patients and their families on, but not limited to, therapeutic exercises, functional activities, gait training, stair training, and home care activities.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care
Consult with team regarding appropriate equipment recommendations for the patients
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
Assist in maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment
Performs related duties as required
Qualifications/Requirements:Experience:
0-2 years’ experience in acute care and or rehabilitation, required
Willing to train a new graduate
Education:
Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant college or university, required
Licenses / Certifications:
Must posess license and current registration issued by the New York State Education Department as a Physical Therapy Assistant
