This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial processes.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Coordinates and participates in month-end and year-end close processes, including banking activities, expense reviews, journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
  • Oversees the administration of the chart of accounts and key financial documents, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
  • Contributes to the design and documentation of automated workflows and financial reporting systems.
  • Leads the development and implementation of business processes and policies to strengthen internal controls.
  • Supports the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, audits, and compliance or tax filings.
  • Monitors and provides oversight of organizational expenses.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams within Finance and across the organization.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Experience and SkillsEDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in accounting or finance field, non-profit preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and v lookups.
  • Able to function independently while operating effectively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex and multiple tasks professionally and efficiently.
  • Ability to work under deadlines.
  • Highly proficient interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism, leadership, creative problem-solving, diplomacy, negotiation, and sales skills, and the ability to manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
  • Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population.
