Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. * Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc. * Manage and direct statistical process control activities * Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis * Identify sources of variation within a production environment effectively and efficiently * Establish tolerance limits and facilitate appropriate corrective actions * Establish and monitor quality target levels for each build * Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations * Establish critical characteristics for gauging and measuring data collection methods * Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and Suppliers * Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility * Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions. VO customer plants key contact - provide initial response for customer issues, lead 8D problem solving teams to address all customer issues and communicate plant actions Support Area to achieve plant SQDCME objectives: Reduce Pulls, PPM, R/1000 and Contamination Provide daily support of Production activities (with respect to the QOS) - Attend daily AM production meeting reporting on quality related items and lead effort to resolve quality related issues/concerns Lead Dept QOS meeting, conduct required QOS audits (PCA, Department, SPC, DCP, etc.) to schedule, and coach production area to close identified QOS gaps Support external quality audits (QOS, Contamination, Heat Treat, Weld) to achieve plant objectives. Lead process variation reduction and problem-solving activities to prevent recurrence of customer failures and plant FTT issues - lead Global 8D teams to address customer issues. Support floor DMAIC and Kaizen problem solving teams. Support Plant Quality-office related reviews and meetings - Daily Quality Start-Up, PRT, area 8D, area QOS, QOS Integration/Standardization, monthly DCP, PQR, and LJQC Meetings. Schedule and drive routine Capability and Gage R&R studies per PTO procedure - maintain capability and Gage R&R summaries and report MQOS metrics. Implement new or modified PTO, Corporate, Quality Systems standards, and plant QOS best practices as required. Interface closely with Incoming Quality for supplied part issues, failures and concerns. Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications. Verify compliance to ES, DCP and product testing; facilitate reaction plans and risk assessments as required. Support PTC (Pass-Through Characteristic) meetings and DCP meetings. Respond and support resolution of FQAs, PQAs, VO Pulls, VO Concerns, Warranty, Road Test, and Contamination failures. Train production staff on quality control procedures and standards Supervise assigned QOSC(s) (Quality Operating System Coordinator) and Quality Liaison(s) OBL Campaign Management High School Diploma or GED Proven problem solving ability Microsoft Office proficiency (Word/Excel/Outlook) Willingness to work all shifts/ alternative work schedule as required Bachelor's degree in STEM field Proficiency in use of problem solving tools (Six Sigma, DOE, 8D, 5 Why, etc) Self-starter, with the ability to be self-directed in a high-volume, fast-paced environment As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
