Position Overview:Retro Fitness is seeking a hands-on Group Exercise Manager to oversee programming, scheduling, and instructor development across all current and upcoming clubs in Texas, Florida, and New York. This role is designed for a strong operator who can manage from a distance, travel strategically, and implement scalable systems to support club-level teams.Key Responsibilities:Instructor Oversight
  • Source, onboard, and support instructors across all markets
  • Maintain active sub lists and ensure all instructors meet certification and CPR/AED requirements
  • Deliver virtual coaching and periodic performance reviews
Class Scheduling
  • Manage and adjust club-level GX schedules to match usage trends and member feedback
  • Launch initial class lineups at new locations and adjust over time
  • Ensure consistent branding and format variety
Training & Quality Control
  • Develop a simple onboarding process and standards checklist
  • Conduct virtual reviews and quarterly site visits
  • Monitor member feedback and class attendance to improve program quality
Club & Team Support
  • Serve as the GX point of contact for Club Managers and Fitness Managers
  • Support schedule coverage, instructor needs, and day-to-day execution
  • Partner on resolving GX-related member concerns
New Club Launches
  • Lead GX setup and staffing for all new clubs
  • Visit new locations during pre-opening as needed
  • Ensure consistent programming from day one
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of group fitness leadership experience (multi-site preferred)
  • National Group Fitness certification (AFAA, ACE, NASM, ISSA, etc.)
  • CPR/AED certified
  • Experience creating class schedules and managing instructors remotely
  • Organized, self-motivated, and effective at managing across time zones
  • Comfortable using Excel, Zoom, and fitness scheduling platforms
