Role DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Reliability Test Manager is essential for ensuring the long-term performance of drug delivery and diagnostic devices in the animal health industry. Our products integrate hardware and software, and test plans include each.This position is a people and technical leader in creation or application of lifetime test practices, development and support of thorough documentation, and delivery of data analysis driving greater reliability for Zoetis products. Their work will take place throughout a product lifecycle and address components, subsystems, and full instruments.The role is part of an engineering group working toward R&D, Quality, and customer goals. They will coach, mentor, and influence other team members, using their background and experience as guide. The successful candidate will demonstrate capacity for and recognize the value of adaptive, situational leadership.POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESThe Reliability Test Manager will:
  • Manage resources on multiple projects with overlapping timelines
  • Lead scheduling and monitor progress for test planning, data analysis, teardown, and reporting
  • Work with development teams to address product risk areas through measurement and tests
  • Provide updates and results in written or verbal format for technical, non-technical, or leadership audiences
  • Drive continuous improvement connected to test techniques, design for reliability, risk planning, and statistics
  • Mentor engineers in problem-solving, project management, planning and analysis
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Required: BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical) with 8+ years’ experience in hardware test or reliability engineering on electromechanical products. 1-2 years as team lead or manager.
  • Preferred: BS (Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical) with 12+ years’ experience in hardware test or reliability engineering on electromechanical products. 3-5 years as team lead or manager.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTSRequired:
  • Past project management showing skills in problem solving, planning and organizing, decision-making
  • Excellent communication skills, influencing and leading, facilitation and teamwork capabilities
  • Strong statistics-based data analysis (one of these packages or similar: Weibull++. JMP, Minitab, Python)
  • Hands-on experience with ALT, HALT, HASS or environmental testing
  • Problem-solving & reliability tools: root cause (5 why, fishbone), Weibull prediction, warranty estimates
  • Workflow management - JIRA or other equivalent workflow tools
Preferred:
  • Experience supporting review/development of statements of work, schematics, and CAD for new test hardware
  • Proven capacity in developing block diagrams and other reliability models
  • Requirements management – JAMA, DOORS or other equivalent workflow tools
  • ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or other similar certification
