Please take note: This is not a claims position nor a customer service position. This is an administrative fee billing role and the customers you would assist will be employers. Your interactions with the employers will involve assisting them with invoice questions and guiding them through receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications. You will also prepare and reconcile invoices.This position is full-time (40-hours/weeks), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends.We offer weeks of on-the-job training / shadow-based training. The hours during training will be an 8-hour shift between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm CST, Monday - Friday. Duration for training is based on the individual candidate and their needs. More details on the training will be discussed further during the interview process by the hiring manager.Primary Responsibilities:
- Work through specific administrative billing inquiries and discrepancies to ensure invoice accuracy
- Provide input to policies, systems, methods and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function
- Educate customers (employers) regarding the availability of receiving invoices and remitting payments through online applications
- Manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivable
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR Older
- 2+ years of external (not medical coding and not claims) billing experience (reviewing billing data, reviewing statuses of accounts and resolving discrepancies, and reconciling accounts)
- 1+ years of experience in an office-related environment using phones and computers as primary job tools
- Experience in gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and also work through specific billing discrepancies
- Experience in generating invoices
- Experience with Windows personal computer applications, which includes the ability to navigate multiple programs and learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm CST, Monday - Friday. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends
- Accounting experience
- Experience with Microsoft Excel (Pivots, charts, create, edit spreadsheets, macros)
- Microsoft Access Database experience (run and manage programs)
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- Ability to multi-task and to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product
- Exceptional Time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
