How you'll make an impactResponsible to assist the claims professionals with medical aspects of claim management. Nurse will provide clinical input into the medical treatment of injured parties and coordinate referrals to service providers for appropriate medical management (ex: TCM, UM , FCM ,etc) Nurse will provide assistance in the application of ODG guidelines and state treatment guidelines. Nurse will provide training sessions for claims professionals and support staff within the branch of assignment. Nurse will intervene with vendors to align services and to evaluate treatment options available. Nurse will review documentation to include diagnostic results, progress notes, medication therapy, physical therapy notes, functional capacity exams and IME reports. Nurse will work with the claim professional in the creation and interpretation correspondence to and from medical providers and independent medical exam professionals. Nurse will participate in claim roundtable discussions and carrier or employer audits as requested by the manager. Must maintain a minimum of 35 hours of professional assistance to the branch each week.
About YouRequired: Associate's degree from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of 3 years clinical experience in an acute care setting required. Active Registered Nursing license within the state of practice.Preferred: Bachelor's degree preferred. Worker's Compensation experience is preferred. Certification in related field preferred.Behaviors: Demonstrates adequate knowledge of managed care with emphasis on use of criteria , guidelines and national standards of practice. Demonstrates good written and oral communications, organizational and leadership skills. Computer literate. Demonstrates good time management skills. Self starter.
