- Always follow safety procedures, including lock out-tag out, confined space and fall protection. Provide training on safety procedures to others.
- Develop and perform preventive maintenance plans on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance. Oversee inspections of machinery and equipment to ensure plan compliance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Provide expertise to other technicians in support of knowledge and skill development.
- Identify and recommend system modifications to improve equipment reliability.
- Thorough understanding of maintenance principles and best practices, such as predictive maintenance and condition monitoring, with the ability to apply them in various situations.
- Manage and perform the installation of new equipment, aligning resources, supplies and equipment to complete installation according to manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Manage and perform the modification or upgrade existing equipment to improve performance or comply with new standards. Ensure all installations and upgrades are performed according to manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks. Document all changes, repairs, and upgrades in the equipment logs. Report recurring issues to supervisors for further analysis and action.
- Provide technical leadership to other technicians in the installation and maintenance of equipment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding equipment status and repair needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance.
- 10+ years of experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably as a journeyman mechanic
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair complex machinery.
- Ability to coordinate resources, contractors, supplies and equipment for project execution
- Ability to train and mentor others on maintenance skills and equipment
- Ability to use a computer with intermediate proficiency, updating plans and providing status updates, documenting work and analyzing performance data.
