Pilot Company is seeking a Business Process Engineering Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2026. This is a unique opportunity to directly improve operational efficiency through process mining and analysis, providing data-driven recommendations that will simplify and automate business processes.In this role, you will be an integral part of our Data Enablement/Business Process Engineering team. Your work will involve ingesting and analyzing data to identify and quantify inefficiencies. This is an ideal position for someone who is a collaborative team player and enjoys building with others to drive real change.What You’ll DoYour responsibilities may include:
  • Support process mining and analysis: Build and analyze business processes with the goal of finding simplification and automation opportunities.
  • Partner with the business: Collaborate with business partners to gather requirements and understand their needs.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations: Analyze data and provide clear recommendations to business partners to improve efficiency.
  • Highlight and quantify inefficiencies: Use your analytical skills to identify inefficiencies and quantify their impact.
  • Contribute to key initiatives: Help accelerate the team's delivery and assist with Pilot’s strategic initiatives by handling essential tasks.
Qualifications
  • Education: A rising or graduating senior pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL and MS Office. Experience building out visualizations is also essential.
  • Soft Skills: A curious and collaborative team player who is open to hearing other perspectives and enjoys building solutions with others.
  • Qualities: We are looking for someone who is driven, reliable, authentic, and welcoming.
