Senior Theater Planner and Systems Designer

- Participating in needs assessment and early project planning efforts.
- Providing architects, engineers, and other project planners theatrical design guidance on mechanical, structural, and electrical requirements for performance spaces and performance equipment systems.
- Participating in project design reviews, documentation, existing conditions/equipment assessment, and other theatrical design work.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in theater consulting, performance equipment systems design, or related field.
- Degree from a 4-year college program in theater, engineering, architecture, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of typical theatrical production practice.
- Strong knowledge of performance-related equipment systems such as theatrical lighting, rigging, audience seating, etc.
- An understanding of building systems and construction techniques
- Proficiency in the use of Revit and/or AutoCAD, Revit is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Direct experience at a professional or university level with performance production
- Strong computer, research, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with an ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of building codes that apply to places of assembly
- Basic knowledge of project management principles
- ETCP certification a plus but not required
