
CNC Setup Machinist

- Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis machines according to technical specifications and blueprints.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine machining processes and sequences.
- Conduct machine tool setup, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling, fixtures and programs.
- Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and quality output.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to minimize downtime.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve machining processes and efficiency.
- Document production data and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
- Understanding machines practices and monitor operations: watching gauges or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly.
- Operation and control: controlling operation of equipment or systems.
- Quality control analysis: Learning and using computer-based quality control and production systems to evaluate performance or quality of the product.
- Critical thinking: using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- High School education or equivalent, preferred.
- 3 year of CNC machining and set up experience
- Successful completion of a CNC Machine Operator Training Program would be a plus.
- Must be able to perform machine shop mathematics and machining procedures.
