
Maintenance Technician | THG Nutrition Manufacturing

- Will be responsible for planning, and monitoring all activities associated with all maintenance work.
- Diagnose and rectify faults of an electrical/ electronic nature, using wiring diagrams, manuals, drawings and sketches, for all plant, equipment and services.
- Follow electrical/ electronic planned maintenance programs.
- Recondition and repair electrical and electronic components, controls and equipment.
- Utilise and follow administration control systems of the maintenance and associated departments in the normal course of employment as an electrician.
- To initiate and carry out electrical/ electronic modifications to new and existing plant equipment and services.
- Escort specialist contractors and work beside them as required.
- Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
- Support any afterhours building needs and activities as required.
- Responsible for maintaining efficiencies and team measurables through maintenance principles and practices, human resources planning, and flexibility.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment.
- Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications.
- Advises operators and line mechanics of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical and mechanical equipment and components.
- Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
- Maintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed.
- Perform or assist in fabrication, preventative maintenance and routine machine checks.
- Assists and trains other maintenance and technical level employees. Will assist in planning and facilitating new and existing associate training.
- Must be willing to work any shift.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Must have knowledge in a manufacturing environment, specifically within a maintenance capacity.
- Must possess strong maintenance ability and aptitude to apply mechanical/electrical principles in various troubleshooting and repair activities.
- Solid problem-solving skills using a variety of statistical and root cause tools.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures and policies.
- Must be able to safely operate motorized equipment.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Must be detail oriented; ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- Previous CED or Electrician experience is preferred
