About Panavision:The Panavision group supports filmmakers working on movies, television series, commercials, and beyond, providing: filmmaking equipment rentals for lenses, cinema cameras, grip, and lighting, stage facilities for filming, post-production services including dailies, visual effects, and final color grading and much more.Job Scope:The Electronic Technician / Drafter is responsible for assembly, maintenance, and repair of professional camera equipment, with the ability to produce wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams for circuit boards, and layout drawings used in the manufacturing process.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly and testing of electronic prototype/production assemblies to engineering/manufacturing instructions or drawings.
  • Diagnose a problem with an electronic assembly down to the component level to determine cause and provide solutions to electronic assemblies’ issues and failures.
  • Produce wiring diagrams, assembly diagrams for circuit boards, and layout drawings used in the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage workflow to ensure schedules are met.
  • Maintain a neat and organized workstation as per health and safety standards.
  • Other tasks and assignments as required.
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Completion of an electronic service technician certificate or an associate degree program in electronics technology
  • Strong knowledge with computer applications in a Windows-based environment including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Visio (used to produce cable and electronic harness drawings).
  • Proficient knowledge of electronic principles.
  • Able to interpret schematics, board level analysis preferred.
  • Solder proficiency down to 30AWG, including crimp terminations.
  • Knowledge of common test equipment such as multimeter, Digital oscilloscope, waveform monitor, power supplies etc.
  • Proper use of hand tools, shop fixtures, and materials.
  • Ability to remain flexible, multitask, prioritize and work on own initiative.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic employee; able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to read blueprints and sketches.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with other departments.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands and reach with hands and arms. The employee may also be required to lift product or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
  • Standard work week (Monday thru Friday); working 8-10 hours per day.
  • Ability to remain flexible towards changes in scheduled job duties.
