The Middle School Interventionist is responsible for providing targeted academic interventions to students in need of additional support. This position utilizes both pull-out and push-in instructional models to address skill deficits, accelerate learning, and promote success in core content areas. The Interventionist collaborates with classroom teachers, instructional staff, and administrators to ensure interventions are aligned with curriculum standards and individualized student needs.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to small groups and individual students through pull-out sessions, targeting identified areas of need.
- Deliver push-in support within general education classrooms to reinforce instruction, scaffold content, and promote student engagement with grade-level standards.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret student data to identify learning gaps, monitor progress, and adjust instructional plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with teachers and instructional teams to design and implement effective intervention strategies aligned with school and district initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student participation, progress, and instructional adjustments.
- Communicate regularly with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student progress and recommended supports.
- Participate in data team meetings, professional learning communities, and school-wide initiatives related to student achievement and intervention.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on evidence-based intervention practices and adolescent learning strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or designee.
- Valid teaching license or certification as required by the state (ELA or Math endorsement preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of research-based intervention strategies and progress-monitoring tools.
- Strong data analysis, organizational, and record-keeping skills.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to supporting equity, inclusion, and high expectations for all students.
- Duties performed in both classroom (push-in) and small-group/intervention settings (pull-out).
- Frequent collaboration with staff, administrators, and families.
